Stream Summary - December 12, 2025
Introduction & New Team Member
- Stream started with a new setup.
- Introduction of Bryn, a new game designer based in Sydney, Australia, with 5 years of experience in web3 gaming and 5 years prior in traditional gaming. Previously worked on Gods Unchained.
- Bryn shared key lessons: iteration is constant, testing is crucial, and a positive, supportive community is vital for a project's success.
Bryn's Current Work on Sunflower Land
- Daily Login System Overhaul:
- New user-friendly system for newcomers without a strict streak requirement.
- Reducing RNG elements; adding more guaranteed rewards on certain days.
- Rebalancing reward boxes (e.g., removing the seed box).
- Rewards will scale based on player level/experience (e.g., giving a percentage of XP needed for next level).
- Achievements Overhaul:
- Achievements will function more like quests, becoming trickier and more rewarding.
- Example: "Make X amount of gold from Betty in a single transaction" (clarified as gold, not gold coins).
- Existing achievement badges will be kept and a place to show them off on profiles will be added.
Project 2 (New Game) Teaser
- Confirmed as a creature-collecting game.
- Key ideas being discussed include breeding, trait breeding, and a player-owned "gym" system where players can build their own gym, staff it with trainers and creatures, and have others battle through it.
- Development approach: building in the open, releasing early, iterating based on community feedback (similar to Sunflower Land's approach).
- Expect more details and features to be shared in the coming months.
Plaza Social Features Update (Spencer)
- New micro-interactions system being tested to replace the old, clunky chat.
- Current Features (in Beta):
- Wave: Click on another player to wave at them. Players turn to face each other and animate. Grants 1 "social point" (max 20 per day). Other players can see the interaction.
- Cheer: Send a cheer animation (currently a synchronized jump).
- Future interactions (like a dance) are planned. The goal is casual, seamless social connection without needing to open a full chat modal.
Rare Crows Update
- Over 25,000 active players currently.
- Genesis Chapter is live (no more resets). Coins and tickets reset each chapter, but Rare Crows, upgrades (gnomes), and referral status are permanent. Spend coins/tickets before the chapter ends (~January 3rd).
- Upcoming Telegram Integration:
- Players will be able to pledge to a community/guild via Telegram.
- Guilds will be ranked by activity.
- Rare Crow discovery messages will pop up in the respective guild's chat.
- Guild admins/maintainers will receive bonus rewards (tickets, coins, extra digs) to incentivize community building and moderation.
- A special treat/NFT is still planned for early beta players and Rare Crow holders.
Flower Dashboard & Liquidity Update
- Dashboard now includes liquidity and volume from both Base and Ronin chains, showing a more accurate total (~$280k).
- New In-Game Leaderboard/Reward System for liquidity providers (replacing the old Merkle system):
- Provides non-financial rewards (cosmetics, food, tools).
- Liquidity providers must manually click a "Register" button on the new dashboard to participate.
- Rewards are calculated daily based on the leaderboard.
- Important: Currently only supports Base chain liquidity (not Ronin). This is a separate, de-fi product; use at your own risk.
Fishing Chapter & Updates (Spencer)
- Next chapter is fishing-focused.
- Multicast Fishing is in development: Ability to cast multiple fishing rods at once (e.g., 5 or 10) using one portion of chum, receiving all results in one modal.
- Marine Marvel System (New Mechanic):
- Each chapter will have 3 Marine Marvels to catch (Easy, Medium, Hard).
- To catch a Marvel, players must first collect 9 "treasure map pieces."
- Map pieces are revealed by catching specific, undisclosed types of fish (different for each Marvel).
- Goal: Encourage community collaboration to discover which fish yield which map pieces.
- Marine Marvels will become tradable after the chapter ends. Map pieces are not tradable.
- Fish will be removed from the "Limited" section of the marketplace on February 1st to encourage active fishing.
- Crab pot updates are also in the works.
