Every week, the amount of Marks earned by the top 100 players of each Faction is totaled up, and becomes the score by which each group is ranked. All members of the first place faction will earn 10% of the Marks they earned during the winning week. Visit your Faction House to find this bonus payment.
In every Faction, the top 100 players earn additional rewards, regardless of the Faction's ranking. All of the possible ranks and rewards can be viewed in the Factions tab of your Codex. These rewards are quite substantial, so if you have the resources to help your faction, it is recommended that you do.
As for the question of which faction is “the best,” each Faction is functionally the same; they all have the same potential bonuses and rewards available for every member. The ranking also fluctuates every week, and each have roughly the same amount of members, so it is not really possible to say that one Faction is consistently superior to another. Each has its own unique aesthetic and style, so pick the one that suits you best!
